There's a difference between a great business and a great company. Virat thinks the gap between the two is where the best opportunities live. “It's never been easier to start and grow a business," he says. “But scaling culture, vision, and execution — the things that actually make a great company — is still brutally hard.”

Virat grew up between New Delhi and London before studying computer science and philosophy at Harvard. He joined Mercor as its first employee, where he built go-to-market, delivery, and business operations from scratch. In less than two years, he helped take the company from six-figure revenue to a $1 billion run rate.
