Collaborator, crowdsourcer, frequent flyer, plenty of chutzpah.

Danya Cheskis-Gold is the Director of Community at Spark Capital. She oversees marketing, PR, and events for Spark and is responsible for cultivating and supporting the Spark Capital network. Danya is based in Spark’s NYC office.

Prior to joining Spark, Danya was the second employee at Skillshare, a Spark Capital portfolio company, where she held a variety of branding, community building, and operational positions. She most recently served as Skillshare’s Head of People & Culture.

Danya began her career on the recruitment team at Teach For America. There she helped develop and launch new teacher recruitment strategies as well as continuing education programs for their hundreds of campus interns nationwide. She also ran diversity & inclusiveness events for the 250-person recruitment team.

Danya is the founder of Pop-Up Shabbat, a seasonal pop-up restaurant inspired by Jewish culture. She also teaches classes on personal storytelling, recruiting & hiring, and startup culture. She regularly fosters dogs through Rescuzilla.

Danya graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2007 with a B.A. in Anthropology and Spanish.
