Andrew Parker Joins Spark Capital

Press Release, June 14, 2010

BOSTON (June 14, 2010) – Spark Capital (http://www.sparkcapital.com/) announced today the addition of Internet and technology executive Andrew Parker as a senior associate. Parker brings to Spark a wealth of expertise and a solid background in technology, having spent five years working in Web services and being closely involved in Web development, design and product management.

“We’re excited to be adding Andrew to our team,” said Todd Dagres, general partner, Spark Capital. “We’ve watched him in action - working hand-in-hand with Internet entrepreneurs and have been impressed by what he brings to the table. He’ll be a great addition to our team in both helping us evaluate new deal opportunities as well as supporting the companies within our existing portfolio.”

Before joining Spark, Parker was a member of the investment team at Union Square Ventures since August 2006. Prior to that, he served as producer at Homestead Technologies, where he designed Web interfaces and was responsible for user testing, technical specifications, product management and rapid prototyping. Before Homestead, he worked for Groupspace.org as a developer on a Web service for asynchronous online deliberation, which was built on the LAMP stack.

“I am very proud to be joining the team at Spark Capital,” said Parker. “I have had the privilege of getting to know a few members of the team and was consistently impressed by their intelligence, expertise and conviction. I have a lot of respect for Spark’s deal taste, which is self-evident in their history of investments, and I look forward to working with them on expanding the existing portfolio.”

Parker graduated from Stanford University in 2005 with a B.S. in symbolic systems, a hybrid of computer science and cognitive psychology.
